Breakthrough tennis star Kasperud is off the market.
No. 1 player and one of the stars of Netflix’s new tennis documentary breakpoint, has been dating his girlfriend Maria Galligani since 2018. Over the years, the young couple from Norway have traveled the world together to compete with Ruud, and Galligani has been by his side as his boyfriend climbs the world rankings.
Luther’s career will peak in June 2022 when he reaches his first Grand Slam final at the French Open. Although he ultimately lost his match against idol Rafael Nadal, the match saw him enter Wimbledon in 2022 as the No. 3 seed.
Galligani, of course, stood in the stands at Wimbledon to support her boyfriend. Ruud won the first round but was upset by unseeded Frenchman Hugo Humbert in the second round. Gary Gani will cheer on Luther again at the US Open in September 2022, and the tennis pro has a career-high ranking of No. 2 in the world.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she studied at Oslo Nye Høyskole from 2017 to 2020, where she earned a degree in psychology. In 2022, a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Southern Denmark. She also worked for a sports nutrition company.
She started dating Ruud in 2018
While it’s unclear when they started dating, the couple went public with their relationship in 2018. That November, after their trip to London and Paris, Ruud posted his first photo with Galligani on Instagram.
Ruther made his Grand Slam debut earlier that year at the Australian Open, making him the first Norwegian to qualify for a Grand Slam main draw in 17 years. He was eliminated in the second round.

Ruud and Galligani have an adorable Malshi puppy named Bajas Galligani Ruud. According to the dog’s Instagram account, Bajas was born on December 10, 2020, and the couple appears to have gotten him in early January 2021.
Luther and Galligani have posted plenty of photos with Bajas over the years, sometimes taking him on adventures, like in July 2021 when Luther took him to the Swedish Open.

Besides tennis, Ruud is also an avid golfer, and it appears he got his girlfriend into the sport as well. Before going public on Instagram, Galligani posted several photos of herself golfing on her page, including a cute photo of Ruud teaching her how to swing.
In April 2022, Luther joked about playing golf with Nadal. “He’s a very, very tough competitor,” Rudd told the ATP. “Honestly, it’s kind of hard to play with him because he’s so focused and doesn’t talk much. Usually on the golf course, you laugh a little bit and make jokes. With him, it’s not a joke.”
