TODAY’S Pegasus Filly and Mare Turf Stakes Presented by Pepsi
This will be the second running of the Pegasus Filly and Mare Turf, which carries a $500,000 purse and will be run at 1 1/16 miles. Last year’s first race was won by the Chad Brown trained favorite Regal Glory. Brown will be represented again by this year’s team favorite and the No. 1 winner Shantisara with Irad Ortiz Jr. is on board trying to get back on track following an 0-for-2 season in 2022 after a string of stakes wins in 2021.
Two horses are out of regional prep in the Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes, finishing second and third. Rockstar Girl and Bay Stormwill be among the contenders, as it were Come onwho will try to leave the winner in the 32nd and his last career starts after winning three graded stakes in 2022. The Grade 3 Fred W. Hooper Stakes is a one-mile track race with a $150,000 purse. This race provides a good way for two horses that could not enter the field for the Pegasus World Cup, including.
