In the middle of the season, many mythical teams have been eliminated due to major injuries. 16 teams haven’t seen a goodbye yet, and in Week 10, the Ravens, Bengals, Patriots and Jets were given a break after nine games.
Here are some early options for exempt wires going into Week 10:
quarterback
Justin FieldsChicago Bear
Fields established himself as the starting quarterback of the week in all forms after hitting a season-high 3-pointer against the Cowboys last week.Chicago added Chase Claypool That should help his value in the passing game at the trade deadline. Field turned into a beast in Week 9 (301 yards and 4 touchdowns). In the last four games (12/88, 14/82/1, 8/60/1 and 15/178/1), his floor has been great in running games, but he has only Passing over 200 yards game (208/1). Fields should be considered a top-eight quarterback at this time of the season, with an exciting second half expected.his duel lion In week 10, another elite outing.
Baker MayfieldCarolina Panthers
The Panthers called up Mayfield in the second half against the Bengals. He responded with 155 yards and two touchdowns, pointing to him starting Thursday night against falcon. Atlanta enters Week 9 and ranks 29th in quarterback defense (24.98 FPPG). So Mayfield only makes sense this week for someone who digs deep into screens in the quarterback pool. Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow goodbye.
running back
Zach MossIndianapolis Colts
The energy of the Colts offense left the building after injuries to Matt Ryan and Jonathan Taylor.shipped with neheim hines buffalo, Deon Jackson jumped to the starting running back in Week 9. However, his ceiling is much lower because Indy is playing with a backup quarterback (only 36 yards and two catches against the Patriots). Next week, if Taylor doesn’t play, Moss should be the Colts’ backup running back. For now, Moss is just an insurance card until he shows more energy on the court and there’s a better update on the health of Taylor’s ankle issues.
Cordarell Patterson, not clear
After missing four games with an ankle injury, Patterson played against charger. Atlanta gave him 14 touches, 2 touchdowns and 1 catch for 53 yards. The Falcons will continue to rotate both guards, but Patterson has the best all-around skills. He should be in the free agency pool on a short list, with no injured bench.
Ajay Dillon, not clear
I’m sure Dillon has been kicked to the sidelines in many home leagues with limited lineups after a tedious start to the first eight weeks (8.05 FPPG in PPR format). However, Aaron Jones left his game with a left foot injury, at least keeping Dillon at work next week. He tends to be a better cold-weather runner, so his value should naturally increase in the second half. If Jones misses multiple games, Dillon should be a top-15 running back.
wide receiver
Samori Toure, Green Bay Packers
The wide receiver position remains Aaron Rodgers’ weakness. Romeo Dubs is out this week with an ankle injury that looks like a multi-week problem. Also, Christian Watson took another hit, leading to an early exit with a potential concussion. Next up appears to be Samori Toure, who has 8 goals, 3 catches, 71 yards, 1 point over the past two weeks. Green Bay drafted him in the seventh round this year, and while his cap isn’t too high, a starting role could lead to a Week 10 bye week cover.
DeAndre Carter, not clear
Carter was able to play against the Falcons after battling injuries entering Week 9. As the Chargers’ second wide receiver, he had five catches for 53 yards and six hits.If Joshua Palmer (8/106) isn’t in the player pool, Carter will be a viable fill perimeter for deeper formats until Keenan Allen Recovering from his hamstring injury.
