Excerpted from his new book, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait by Gyles Brandrethset to be published in December, royal confidant reported to MailOnline that’s not all The Queen has her own mobile phone, but she does not, under any circumstances, allow the young royals to bring their mobile devices to the dinner table.

In the article, he explained: “She has her own mobile phone, and obliging grandchildren are ready to show her how it works. She understood ‘texting’, although this was somewhat defeated by ‘applications’. And she does not allow her grandson to bring his ‘tool’ to the dining table, under any circumstances.”

Despite the strict rules behind closed doors, the late Queen was known for having a very special relationship with his grandson and in a sweet moment in 2006 was made Prince William break his patience while standing on the Sovereign’s Parade at The Royal Military Academy in Camberley.
The Queen has a good relationship with her grandchildren
