A newly revealed character has taken the title of tallest female in all of Street Fighter as Italian powerhouse Marisa showed off some ridiculously hard-hitting attacks in the game’s latest trailer.
Some of the more artistically inclined members of the fighting game community quickly began drawing Marisa, each appreciating various details of her portrayal from her towering size to her surprising similarities to the Sonic character Knuckles. We’ve put together a gallery of said art to share with you today.
Marisa first appears when she slams a Spartan helmet in front of us as the camera zooms out to reveal she’s in a huge coliseum. Her red hair frames her face the way a helmet would, indicating that she fights with the trained ferocity of a Spartan warrior.
In fact, when we see her first real attack in the trailer, it’s her absolutely dominating fellow newcomer Manon by grabbing her, forcing her face down on the ground with one arm twisted up behind her back, and then delivering an execution blow in the back of the head, basically burying Manon’s head in the ground.
Oh, Marisa is also seen casually sparring with a lion at one point too. All of this really adds up to a uniquely dominating presence that we really haven’t seen from any of the ladies of the franchise thus far. Yes, Chun-Li has the title of “Strongest Woman in the World”, but… that has to be defined by a different yardstick than just physical strength if Marisa is in the room.
